Our Youth / Young Adult Commission

Secular Franciscans harbor hope for the future and affirm their joy in living. That hope is enfleshed in each new generation to whom Secular Franciscans reach out in order to share their Gospel-based Franciscan attitudes and perspectives, not so much as a means of recruiting new members, but because those ideals offer a viable life-giving alternative lifestyle for the life of our world.

The mission of the Youth Commission is to study, animate, guide and coordinate the local fraternity’s efforts to reach today’s youth and young adults. Its efforts focus on three areas: 1) direct involvement in youth-centered activities, 2) support of initiatives that engage youth and young adults in value-based projects, such as mentoring projects, and 3) enhancing the life of the local fraternity through the inclusion of youth and young adults both as Secular Franciscans and as members of the Franciscan Youth Movement.
